• Tertiary qualification in Electrical / Electronics/ Computer Engineering and registered as a Chartered / Professional Engineer

• At least 15 years of relevant working experience in design and managing railway signalling project/ contracts

• Knowledge of modern Automatic Train Control Systems and Computer Based Interlockings

• Sound appreciation of the constraints, integration risks and interface requirements of civil (underground station/tunnel, at-grade and elevated viaducts), trackwork, Electicial and Mechanical services and systems works.

  • Successful candidate may be assigned to one (1) or more projects concurrently (depending on size of projects and work scope).  He / She may be the Engineer in-charge for particular equipment as assigned by Department Manager / Project Lead Engineer or he / she may assume the role of Project Lead Engineer (Key Person).

  • He / She is also expected to check / review the work of other supporting engineers.

  • On need basis, traveling is required and site assignment is expected.






  • Degree / Diploma with at least 12 to 15 years’ of experience in Rotating / Package equipment design, installation and commissioning/start-up.

  • Familiar with specifications and requirements of major Oil & Gas plants (e.g. Shell DEPS, Exxon GPs, etc.)

  • Experience in handling API compressor, steam turbines for at least 3 projects.

  • Work as Lead Rotating / Mechanical Engineer function for at least 3 projects of at least USD $100 million and above.

  • Experience with handling other package equipment in actual projects.

  • Provide technical support to the project to obtain necessary approvals from the verification body / classification society or other applicable approving authorities.

  • Represent Material Discipline in meetings, discussions, audits, verifications, workshops and technical reviews that relates to Material Engineering scope of work on projects and be responsible for closeout of actions identified as required.

  • Identify and manage resource requirements and supervise the distribution of tasks and Lead, guide and mentor the material engineering team on the project and address the unique challenges of the project by providing technical solutions to the team and improve the performance of the Material Engineering team.

  • Be responsible to manage the progress of Material Engineering scope and internal and supplier deliverables as per the schedule of the project.

  • Applicant must have a minimum of 15 years of experience having worked in an engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects (platforms & FPSO projects) serving in the capacity of a material engineer, having accrued thereof a minimum experience of 6 years in the capacity of a lead material engineer.  

  • Applicant must have had prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and greenfield projects in the Oil and Gas sector with similar roles and accountabilities and possess an excellent understanding of project phases, milestones and deliverables.

  • Applicant shall demonstrate in-depth knowledge in material selection (metallic and non-metallic materials), corrosion/ erosion principles, metallurgy and welding, corrosion/ erosion protection & management, cathodic protection and coating systems based on life cycle analysis and cost-effectiveness with a proven track record on projects in the upstream oil and gas sector.

  • Applicant shall possess demonstrable design experience with development/ update and/ or review of typical Materials Selection deliverables such as philosophies, specifications, procedures, study reports etc.

  • Applicant must possess a thorough understanding and knowledge of oil and natural gas industry standards such as, but not limited to, API (American Petroleum Institute), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) and other relevant standards related to material, erosion/ corrosion, examination, welding processes, testing/inspections, thermal insulation etc.
